Turtlegasm Is My Own Word.

Yesterday was . . . interesting. I could feel the winds change as I walked to TaeKwonDo, it was the calm before the storm. It was an air of, if not expectancy, then anticipation.
It was the day before our mid-semester break started, which means, quite simply, We have two weeks of no school, let's freakin' party!!!! Which is exactly what happened.

But before I get to that, allow me to state my day in review. First on the list is. . . THE TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES MOVIE! Not many people know this, but I am the person that I am today largely because of the turtles. I would watch them everyday as a child, and, were they still on, I would watch them every day as an adult. I even owned the toy Technodrome, which, by the way, was the awesomest of awesome toys Evar. So lets just say that I'm pleased with the movie, of course, given my personality, some director could have defecated on screen, and I'd still probably love it. But no, it really is a damned decent film, every voice (excepting splinter's) was spot on, and they actually succeeded in making the turtle fight scenes rather bad-ass. The only thing that the movie was lacking was the Shredder. But they intimated toward a sequel starring Shredder, so I'm potentially very happy. Butko says go out and see it, it's your civic duty as an American.

After I had my turtlegasm, I had another underwhelming dinner at the dining hall and proceeded to TaeKwonDo club. It was a quiet Thursday, so I got a chance to see if I remembered my Ken-Po Techniques, and at the end, we free-sparred. This means you spar, but without any gear, so there's theoretically supposed to be no contact. Note the qualifier in the previous sentence. I was sparring against this red belt guy, Josh, doing fairly well for my inexperience, there was some contact, but nothing that felt debilitating. We bowed to each other, sat down, congratulated each other on a fun little fight, and he left. I stood up, and realized that, during our little spat, he had landed a rather nice kick right on the head of my quad muscle. It goes without saying, if you've ever had this happen to you, that is, that walking was, and remains, quite difficult. So I had to skip climbing last night. Boo. So instead, because I've finally gotten and email from George, I found my way to the weights room for the first time in about three weeks. Here's where I let out another Boo: I've gotten flabby and weak in my time off. Really, 'tis amazing how much one can lose in so very, very short a period of time. So I worked my bum off and returned to my dorm at about 9:30ish at night.

This was quite possibly the craziest that I've ever seen my dorm. I couldn't really stand or walk, so I retreated to the relative silence and safety of my room. I read my new book. The best part was that I was living in a bloody cartoon; I'd get the chance to read about 5 pages of my book, I'd look up and a naked person would sprint past my door, scream, then sprint back past my door again. I'd go back to my book, read another 5 pages and repeat the process. At one point I stood up and went into the hallway to investigate (because it was hilarious) and threw myself into an Austin Powers movie. Harry was running down my hallway, naked as usual, but somehow, because of the clutter of people in the hallway watching, there was always a hand or a head covering up the nasty bits. He'd walk to the left, a person would tilt their head, he'd jump up into the air and somebody would yawn. It was . . . awesome-funny.

With that image I leave you for the South Island. Expect updates to be sporadic at best.

=) And if you ever decide that you have way too much free time on your hands, I can take it all away with another link to a really simple and addicting internet game. Let me know.

"Do I look like I'm made of phoenix downs?" Happy Zombie Jesus Day! Well, at least it is state-side. I'm not entirely sure how far ahead you are... That is all (for now).
