South Island 2

Okay, so the Internet still is experiencing the suck during my little excursion, so I'm doing another little brief outline to assuage your curiosity:

Day 4: Drove from Greymouth through Arthur's Pass to Mt. Cook. I got to see Rohan and Pellenor fields. Oh yeah, the geek within giggled in happiness.

Day 5: Hiked around Mt. Cook during a thunderstorm. I got soaked to my pikkininies. Saw/heard lightning/thunder/avalanches. Spent the night in Wanaka.

Day 6: Played around in Wanaka, drove to Queenstown, explored. After getting our fill of that, we drove to Te Anau and stayed the night. We really did nothing because the storm was still stalking us. Those sneaky storms.

Day 7: Went to Milford Sound, took a cruise along the fjord, and ended the day in Invercargill with Ben's friend Blake. Ben got smashed with the Kiwis, I was DD, so it was rather fun to watch. Just imagine it, and I'm sure you'll giggle too.

Day 8: Drove from Invercargill to Bluff, hiked around in Bluff, then drove through the Catlins. We finished the day in Milton, in a Swiss Hostel, speaking French with French people, and meeting up with more Americans and Germans than you could shake a stick at.

Okay, my dollars up and I've got to go, so to all of you I Say: Don't sweat the Petty things, and Don't Pet the-

But I LIKE petting the -'s! What is a pikkininy? Is that like a female picachu or something? Why do you have them? Will you bring me one when you get back?

Be on notice, the term pickaniny is a racial slur and I am offended. Even Webster says "offensive".

Ahhh, the fjords are within your heritage dear. I wish I was there.

We are following your travels on Maps via Google Satelite. It looks beautiful. The fjords look really neat to see. They don't look like the Fords in Reno. The Lord of the Rings view must be outstanding! Bring me back a rock.

...Ok, I'm afraid I've got to do this. In the spirit of impartiality and equality, I would also like a few Bogans, Buckras, Ditchpigs, Gai-kos, Moss Eaters, Rosbifs, Rutabagas, Shilaeli Huggers, Taffys, Woolybacks, harps, Pogues, squareheads, and Spanglish. But only if you don't mind, of course.
